Set between two harbours and a gulf full of islands, and dominated by
spectacular but dormant volcanos,
Auckland is known as the 'City of Sails'
for there are more boats per head of
population in this city than anywhere
else on Earth.
Auckland Day Tour
Your tour will show you Auckland’s Harbour Bridge which - as if to illustrate the youth of the nation - has eight lanes saving twenty five miles on the route in and out of the city yet was opened less than fifty years ago.Developed to welcome the Americas’ Cup, spectacular Viaduct Harbour is now the setting for lots of smart pubs and restaurants – as well as a lot of boats.
The tour will take you down trendy Queen Street, the main thoroughfare of Auckland. It runs down to Waitemata Harbour as does The Domain, the delightful city centre.
Having followed the water along Tamaki Drive and stopped at Bastion Point, you’ll get a stunning view over the City from Mt. Eden: one of the highest of those volcanos.
If you chose, your tour can end at Kelly Tarltons Antarctic Centre and Underwater World – with admission included.
