Dunedin is widely regarded as the best preserved Victorian and Edwardian heritage city in the southern hemisphere. It is also home to some of New Zealand's top fashion designers and vibrant cafes and bars. Plus it's home to Otago University who's very lively students make up almost a fifth of the city's population!
Otago Peninsula, is renowned for the world's only mainland albatross breeding colony at Taiaroa Head and various other ocean bird, seal and penguin species, including one of the world's rarest, the yellow eyed penguin.

Chocolate lovers have the opportunity to indulge in their favourite treats, with a full programme of events, including the Choc Art Awards, Jaffa Race down the world's steepest street, Chocolate Fair in the Octagon and the Cadbury Kids' Bake-off.
Biennial Early October - OTAGO FESTIVAL OF ARTS
A celebration of Otago arts and culture with international acts as well as performers from Otago, and around New Zealand throughout the two week programme.
